Working Papers in Input-Output Economics

The Working Papers in Input-Output Economics (WPIOX) series aims at disseminating research output amongst those interested in input-output economics, both academicians and practitioners. It is common practice that the results of ongoing research are documented in the form of working or discussion papers, typically with the author’s own institution (university departments, research institutes, or governmental organizations, for example). Such documents may be conference papers, research reports, preliminary versions of what later become journal articles, or databases. Too often, the existence of such working papers is not known by colleagues in the field. To enhance the exchange of ideas and knowledge in input-output economics, collecting working papers in a central electronic “archive” allows for a wide availability and easy accessibility through internet.

The archive is set up under the auspices of the International Input-Output Association and contains working papers in input-output economics as defined in its broadest sense. That is, studies that use data collections that are in the format of (or are somehow related to) input-output tables and/or employ input-output type of techniques as tools of analysis. The archive presents for each paper the abstract and keywords, which can be read directly, and the full text, which is in pdf-format. In order to be able to read pdf-files, Adobe’s Acrobat Reader must have been installed. This package can be downloaded freely at the website of Adobe.
