How to get to Alghero


by plane

Alghero airport, distance 8 km

Alghero’s Riviera del Corallo International Airport is just 8 km from the city center. It can be reached in just a few minutes by bus, taxi or car. It is directly connected with the main Italian airports (especially Rome and Milan) and with various European capitals.

  • With the bus
    • Tickets: ARST ticket machine (Arrivals Lounge- next to the bar / newsstand) Single ticket: EUR 1,00
    • Bus line and stops: departure airport- S.P.44- Ponte Calik bypass- Fertilia Piazza Venezia Giulia- Viale Burruni, S.S. 127bis- Ponte Calik- Via Don Minzoni- via Garibaldi- Porta Terra- Via Vittorio Emanuele- Via Cagliari n.2 (Bar Casa del Caffè). It takes about 25 minutes.
  • By taxi
    Taxis are available from the airport from the first morning flight to the last night flight. Taxi parking is located just outside the arrivals hall. Taxi fare from the airport: around 20 euros. It takes about 15 minutes.

  • Reach Alghero by car
    It is easy to drive through the streets of Alghero with a car. In the city center there are many spaces highlighted in blue. This means that parking is unattended but paid. But there is also free parking near the marina where you can leave your car without time limits.
    You can find many companies that offer car rentals, like Hertz and Avis.


Olbia “Costa smeralda” airport - distance 140 km

Olbia airport is connected to many national and international destinations.

by boat

For those arriving in other Italian cities, the alternative is the journey by ship, from Genoa, Livorno, Civitavecchia, Naples. From the Sardinian ports of Porto Torres, Golfo Aranci, Olbia and Cagliari it is possible to reach Alghero by train, bus or car.
