Conference VenueUniversidad Pablo de Olavide is a public university located in Seville and founded in 1997. It is located about 6 km to the southeast of Seville city center in a spacious 140- hectares. It is the place of over 13.000 students with a growing percentage of international students. It is also a very inclusive campus. The name of the university is in honor of Pablo de Olavide (Lima, 1725- Baeza (Andalucía)1803) who was a Spanish writer, translator, jurist and politician. He was a university professor and an official of the Royal Audience of Lima. The university was established by the Law 3/1997 of July 1. It was defined as “an instrument of social, teaching, training, study and research” with the idea of contributing to the “economic, cultural and scientific development of society”. Its first rector was Professor Rosario Valpuesta, a specialist in Civil Law, who laid the foundations for a different kind of university deeply committed to its society. The University was founded with only two faculties, Law and Business, and the University School of Social Work, that offered two Licenciatura degrees and three Diploma programs. Since then, it has expanded to include 48 undergraduate and double degree programs along with a wide range of continuing education programs that position the institution as a leading university across Spain. Pablo de Olavide has established itself as a national benchmark in the field of university quality, being the first and only Spanish university with all its undergraduate academic centers accredited by the Council of Universities. The campus is built on the grounds of the former Universidad Laboral de Sevilla, a vocational labor institution, with historic buildings designated as Cultural Heritage Sites. The iconic UPO Tower stands as a landmark and symbol of the University. It has a Single campus model, designed to achieve an optimal interdisciplinary integration combining social, academic, research, residential and sport functions within a single geographic space.
